Here’s how our pallet delivery service works, in conjunction with Pallet-Track.

Every evening between Monday – Friday, a vehicle in our fleet is loaded with palletised goods collected from Doncaster and the surrounding areas. The loaded vehicle then makes its way to Pallet-Track’s central hub in Wolverhampton. Using Pallet-Track’s overnight service allows our drivers to avoid rush hour traffic and minimise the effect JMS has on road congestion, helping us be more environmentally friendly. After the pallets arrive at the depot they are sorted, before being sent to distribution centres across the country. From there, they are delivered directly to your chosen address.

Working with Pallet-Track, we can palletise almost any goods for delivery. We’ll deliver anything from quarter pallets to full pallets weighing up to 1200kg, as well as oversize pallets up to 2.2m high. Being part of Pallet-Track’s overnight freight network also allows us to offer a range of delivery options for your pallets. We’ll offer you 24-hour next-day delivery, morning or afternoon delivery, or even time specific delivery, where you can choose a timeslot for when you want your goods delivered. You’ll also be able to track your delivery online, giving you peace of mind that your palletised goods are delivered safely, in good time.

We’re already Low Emission Zone compliant. The Low Emission Zone covers most areas of Greater London, encouraging the most polluting vehicles to become cleaner. Being LEZ compliant, JMS vehicles are not restricted access into London City Centre areas. On top of this, our regular night trunking operations help in reducing road congestion at busy periods through the day.

We also work with other companies offering services promoting the best environmental practice, like Pallet Track. In fact, being part of Pallet Track’s overnight delivery service further helps us reduce road congestion on busy times of day. Our environmental policies even extend to the products we use. We aim to purchase environmentally friendly products, where possible, from local vendors and corporate supplier who match our environmental criteria.

At JMS, we put in continuous effort to make sure our staff are trained to the highest level, extending to our environmental policies. We enhance our employees’ environmental awareness, encouraging them to carry out duties in an environmentally responsible manner, educating management on our environmental principles, products and services.

But our environmental policies are far from static. We’re always learning from outside examples of best practice environmental performance, integrating environmental awareness in all stages of planning, marketing employee communications and training. Our environmental policy and practices are periodically reviewed in order to improve operational and environmental performance across the company.

JMS of Doncaster was founded in 1989, offering haulage services based in Doncaster for almost 30 years. Founder of the company, John Sheard, is still the Managing Director today, very much running the company he founded nearly 30 years ago. Back in 1989 when he founded the company, John Sheard was offering deliveries and operating his business out of a single van.

Over a 28-year period, John has expanded the number of vehicles, and JMS of Doncaster now boast a fleet of vehicles of various sizes, including 44-TON Artics, 18-TON Curtainsiders with Tail Lifts, 7.5-TON Curtainsiders, Sprinter Van, Sprinter Pick Up, Trailers, Double Deck and Flat Bed. Our expanded fleet allows us to deliver a range of goods, and offer Same Day Delivery throughout the UK and areas of Europe, no matter how large or small your delivery is.

At JMS of Doncaster, we’re also continuously improving on our environmental practices. Around 75% of our fleet is EURO 6 compliant, with our vehicles producing cleaner emissions than even some small cars! We’re focusing on environmental risks and exposures, looking for improvement opportunities in our business activities within our internal operations, purchasing environmentally friendly products, reduce our pollution and enhance our employees’ environmental awareness, encouraging them to carry out duties in an environmentally responsible manner.

This all carries forward to our Warehouse and Logistics services. We relocated JMS of Doncaster in 2007, and now have a 30,000 sqft warehouse and two acres of secure outdoor storage. We’re taking steps to manage excessive energy consumption, maximise recycling efforts and reduce pollution in all of our major services.

Looking back on almost 30 years’ experience in the Haulage industry, it’s fantastic to see how much we’ve grown as a company – from humble beginnings, to a nationwide Haulage, Warehousing and Logistics company. In 2007, we relocated the whole of JMS of Doncaster, to accommodate our new warehousing build. Our 30,000 sqft warehouse and two acres of secure outside storage space allows for safe and secure storage of your goods. We provide full logistics management services, where we take care of the storage and distribution of your goods, as well as supply chain management.
